This weeks meeting was a great success with over 40 attendants and Simon Dixon one of the owners of the KP club explained fantastically how they over came the obstacles of the 90's recession and built a fantastic business through innovation and a great team ethic.
Over 40 attended and with places alongside myself Sally and Andy and Jo up fro grabs, a great application list was collated, more about that later and more info to the applicant ASAP.

New Date for Pocklington Network Next Event
An email will be circulated shortly to all members in the meantime those subscibing to the blog here is the lastest update...
"We write to inform you that due to circumstances beyond our control the meeting of the Pocklington Network that was due to be held on Tuesday 8th September has been postponed . It has now been rearranged to take place at the KP Golf Club at 7,30 am on Tuesday 22nd September.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and look forward to seeing you at the rearranged meeting."

First Friday in Malton - Golf Day
The date will be Friday 4th September and will start at 230pm straight after the 1st Friday Club meeting at the Old Lodge.
The venue is Malton & Norton Golf Club and we will be playing 18 holes. Unfortunately the golf club can’t accommodate us for food that day, but we are welcome to use the 19th hole for drinks, a suggestion was to retire to a local curry house if people would like something to eat. Your views and interest on this are welcome.
The cost is £30 per head, obviously if you are members you will not have to pay, which is payable on the day. If it would be easier for people you can make a cheque payable to “1st Friday Club” and I’ll write a cheque out for the full amount on the day. It might be easier for people to put it through your books and or expenses.
Those who are interested please let me know by Monday 31st August if you are coming for definite and also let me know about a curry afterwards and if you want to pay the 1st Friday Club. If you do please send the cheques to me at The Brambles, Middle Street, Swinton, Malton, YO17 6SR.

We are delighted to announce that the second East Yorkshire Business Expo will take place at Beverley Racecourse, on Thursday 1st October 2009, from 9am till 6pm.
This years Expo promises to be bigger than last years and is already being hailed as the must attend event for businesses fighting the credit crunch.With 120+ exhibitors expected the event will be an ideal platform for companies large and small, to promote their goods and services to other businesses across the East Yorkshire region. In addition to this, there will be various free seminars throughout the day and a key note speech by one of Yorkshires most successful business entrepreneurs Deidre Bounds (www.deirdrebounds.com). This will not only to attract foot fall to the event, but will also educate and motivate the business community. The Expo also includes a free Speed Networking event (Sponsored by Pink) on the day to help every business forge new contacts and hopefully gain new business.Exhibition space is limited and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. If you think your business could benefit by exhibiting, please see the attached booking information. With stands starting at £125 and including a free sit down meal in the restaurant for exhibitors these prices are genuinely credit crunch beating.
Companies exhibiting this year will also be invited to a free Exhibitors Networking Event (sponsored by P&O Ferries) on board a P&O Ferry on 3rd September that will give them the opportunity to network with fellow exhibitors. This event will also include a Free Training Seminar on how to get the most from your stand and how to engage with customers and sell more effectively at trade shows. The seminar is to be delivered by the Internationally renowned speaker Richard John (RJA - Face to Face Development) who is our training partner for this years Expo.

Right then I have applied an extremely scientific approach to this and come up with the following options.
July – forget about it too many holidays for all you lucky people.
August – again forget about it too many holidays going on.
So that leaves a small window in September before people take more holidays. We have available Thursday 3rd September, Friday 4th September (which is the date of the normal meeting so we might be able to pull that one together) or Monday 7th September.
Please let me know by Friday 31st July which days you would be interested in and I can then finalise the day and get it booked with Ian’s help.
