Next First Friday Meeting announced for Malton

Hope you are all having a great time with all these Bank holidays and those that aren’t they’ll soon be finished!!

The next meeting is on Friday 6th May from 12noon to 2pm and as usual it is at the Old Lodge, Old Maltongate, Malton, YO17 7EG. The cost is £10 per person and covers Tea, Coffee, Water, Chips and Sandwiches. Please let me know if you are coming by Thursday 5th May so I can arrange numbers.

We had a great meeting last month and if you are coming please bring along your promotional material as we will have a table set aside for this. Also remember your business cards to pass around or leave on the table. Each person will have an opportunity to tell everyone about their business in a 1 to 2 minute slot, so be prepared (feel free to talk about what sort of business you are looking for, anything interesting that has happened in your industry, tell us about you and the business, or any interesting facts). This seemed to work well at the last meeting, as after this we will have the chips and sandwiches and you can then go and speak to people in more detail if you are interested in what they had to say.

Remember if you would like to bring a friend please let me know by Thursday 5th May so that I can arrange numbers.

Also we are thinking of running some meeting on a morning between 730am and 900am, so if you are unable to make the above meeting please let me know. If I get a significant amount of people interested in a morning meeting I will arrange a few to see how they go. For al those who are happy with the lunch time meeting don’t worry we aren’t changing anything there.

Any questions please contact me via email or the numbers below, and remember networking works but works better the more you put into it so come along.

Kind Regards
Chris Davies

Pocklington Pedal Challenge Ride 30th April - can anyone help?

I am the organisers of the Pocklington Pedal Challenge Ride, I work for British Cycling in the North East of England, live in Stamford Bridge and am a member of Clifton Cycling Club which is one of the biggest cycling clubs in Yorkshire.
The event will take place on Saturday the 30th April starting & finishing at Woldgate College, there is a choice of 3 routes which weave around the Wolds the longest distance is 100 miles then 60 miles and a very short family ride.

In the first instance we want to make sure everyone in the area knows about the event we currently have 100 entries and hope this will double in the next few weeks. If you can help spread the word that would be most appreciated.

Secondly we are looking for support in delivering the event, if you have any members who could provide refreshments at the school, or food to stock the feed stations that would be fantatic, we will be buying suppliers and would prefer to use local businesses if possible.

Our shopping list consists of;

100 + bananas

100 + flapjacks or similar

100-200 litres of water

Feed stations on route (village halls, schools, pub car parks etc) anywhere we can get to a toilet/water supply and shelter for our helpers if it rains, likely places are FEED1 Kirby Grindalythe, Duggleby, Settringham, North Grimston, FEED 2 Sand Hutton/Stamford Bridge

Correx Event Signage

Outside catering at Woldgate, hot meal/hot sandwhich for each rider

Any other support or ideas would be welcome.

We would also like to get as many local people riding the event as possible some entries from works teams, sports teams, or just a gang of mates, any suggestions on how this could be achieved would be greatly appreciated, we may also be able to offer some discount packages to suppliers or supporters. If you could help distribute event flyers we have 100 set aside.
