It’s that time of the month for the reminder for the next Malton Networking meeting
It’s that time of the month for the reminder for the next Malton Networking meeting. Last month we all had a 60 second slot each and it seemed to prompt people into talking to other members about the products and services they offer. So as it was a success last time I thought we would go for it again, so prepare a 60 second slot about your business and what your best customer would be.
The next networking event will be held again at The Old Lodge, Old Maltongate, Malton, YO17 7EG on Friday 5th November 2010 between 12 noon – 2pm. As before it will be a chance for everyone to get to know each other and generally network. Remember your business cards!! Also this month we are going to be upstairs in the board room.
The only cost for this meeting will be £10 per person and I will collect the money on arrival, this is a contribution for the rent of the room and the food. Please let me know if you are coming and bringing other people, so that I can arrange numbers for the tea, coffee and food.
If you have any questions please feel free to call me on 01653 692292 or if you would like to come simply reply to this email before Thursday 4th November 2010, so that I can arrange numbers with The Old Lodge. If you know of anyone else who might be interested please feel free to ask them, but do let me know for numbers.
I look forward to seeing you at the networking meeting.
FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T BEEN FOR A WHILE, COME AGAIN AS THE CHIPS ARE STILL AS GOOD AS LAST TIME! ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT MY LANDLINE HAS CHANGED TO 01653 228159.
Kind Regards

Humber Expo will attract hundreds & help local organisations grow
Members of the Humber region's business community are being encouraged to attend a brand new conference, which is aimed at helping local organisations to grow and prosper.
The Humber Expo 2010 – which will run from 9am to 4pm and for which entry is free – is the brainchild of Richard Moorhouse, business manager at The Freedom Centre, a thriving community and events venue in Preston Road, east Hull.
Having attended countless business expos and conferences himself in the past, he saw the potential of launching a Humber-wide networking and support event for business people, which would be about far more than simply selling products and services.
That's why hundreds of delegates are set to converge on The Freedom Centre, on Wednesday, November 3, to take advantage of the genuine economic advice that will be available from the 40 exhibitors and other features on the day.
The focal point of the event will be the keynote speakers that can be seen throughout the day, as well as speed networking seesions:
Guest speaker - Lisa Clifford, a master practitioner of neuro linguistic programming and hypnosis, trained by Paul McKenna and Richard Bandler.
Guest speaker - Andrew Chubb, executive headteacher at Archbishop Sentamu Academy, which is one of 17 schools in Hull being reconstructed and remodelled as part of Hull's £465m Building Schools for the Future programme.
Guest speaker - Jon Hilton, a former East Yorkshire soldier who now runs his own health and safety training business called Pulse Rate Training, will be telling his inspirational story.
Guest speaker – Michelle Vicker, business advisor for HM Revenue and Customs, with handy hints on self employment.
Two free speed networking sessions - taking place at 11am and 2pm, with a free lunch provided for all those who take part*.
"I am confident that the event is going to be a huge hit in its first year," said Mr Moorhouse. "The response we have had from both exhibitors and delegates has already been overwhelming.
The event's principal partner is Grow, an employment-related project commissioned by Hull City Council and its strategic partners. Grow partners are able to offer practical help to local businesses in the Hull area to ensure employers can retain existing staff and minimise any redundancies through the recession, so that as many people as possible stay in work. Expert advice and support is also available, at no cost to the employer, to local employers to improve business resilience and protect jobs in the future.
In addition, the event is being supported by Cobus, Prontaprint, Business Link, and the venue itself, The Freedom Centre.
